2010 Recruiting: Washington
2010-02-16
The headliner of the class is four star California safety prospect Sean Parker, who the Huskies took away from USC, UCLA, and Michigan.
QB Nick Montana is a four star prospect and the son of Joe Montana. He’s the future of the program after Jake Locker, and there’s a chance Steve Sarkisian finds a way to get him some snaps this year to give him some experience heading into 2011.
RB Deontae Cooper is a four star back who will get every chance to earn some carries this year as a backup to starter Chris Polk.
OG Erik Kohler is a big four star prospect with the ability to play either tackle of guard on this level. While it’s not out of the question for him to earn a spot on the two deep, I expect him to really make an impact in 2011.
DT Sione Potoae is among the best defensive tackles in the nation. Like Kohler, he enters a situation where he will get some time to practice before being thrown into the fire due to both starters and a few key reserves returning.
OLB’s Chris Young and Darius Waters were both in the Offense Defense All American Bowl and due to linebacker looking pretty weak this year, both will get the chance to see time as true freshmen.
S Sean Parker is the headliner, a top 75 recruit with range to play safety well and the ability to hit hard. He’s too good to keep out of the lineup in some way this year, so if he can’t earn a starting spot he’s likely heading for a spot in an extra defensive back package.
S Jamaal Kearse is the brother of star receiver Jermaine Kearse. He can end up at either receiver or safety, and either way he will end up making some impact here before he moves on.
