Fall: Friday Night Film Window
Friday night is your first recruiting audition.
College scouts evaluate game film, live performances, athletic traits, position technique, and football IQ. They are not looking only for touchdowns.
They watch how you block, tackle, communicate, recover, and respond to adversity.
Your checklist:
- Film every game.
- Update your highlight video regularly.
- Include full-game footage when possible.
- Track verified height, weight, speed, and statistics.
- Send clean, direct updates to college programs.

When Scouts Begin Evaluating
The fall evaluation period is when college staffs build and update recruiting boards.
For the 2026–27 Division I cycle, the primary fall evaluation window runs from September 1 through November 28, 2026. Recruiting rules vary by division and program, so review the NCAA recruiting resources before making decisions.

Winter: Camps and Showcases
Winter is not a vacation from recruiting.
It is your preparation window.

Spring: Evaluation and Improvement
Spring brings another opportunity to separate yourself.
Coaches may evaluate spring practices, scrimmages, academics, and updated physical development. Share new film if your speed, strength, position, or role has improved.
Do not send the same video forever.

Signing Day: Finish the Process
For the 2026–27 cycle, the early football signing period is December 4–6, 2026. National Signing Day follows on February 5, 2027.
Some athletes sign early. Others earn late opportunities through spring and summer recruiting.
