Welcome to the Offense-Defense (O-D) football camp at Ashley Booth Field in Myrtle Beach, SC!

If you’re looking to improve your football skills and take your game to the next level, attending an O-D football camp is an excellent choice. Our experienced coaching staff will provide you with the tools you need to enhance your performance on the field. You’ll learn techniques that will help you become a more versatile and effective player, whether you play offense or defense.

But why is Ashley Booth Field such a great location for a football camp? First of all, the facilities are top-notch. The field itself is well-maintained and features state-of-the-art turf that provides an excellent playing surface. Additionally, there are ample spectator areas and plenty of space for players to warm up and stretch before practice.

Furthermore, Myrtle Beach is an ideal location for a football camp. With its beautiful beaches, wide range of attractions, and pleasant climate, Myrtle Beach is a great place to spend a few days improving your football skills. There are plenty of fun things to do in the area when you’re not on the field, such as visiting amusement parks, playing mini-golf, or shopping at local boutiques and outlets.

At our O-D football camp, players from youth football leagues as well as high school football teams will be participating. Some of the local youth leagues that may be participating include the Myrtle Beach Youth Football League, the Carolina Forest Youth Football and Cheerleading Association, and the Conway Parks and Recreation Department. High school teams that may be participating include Myrtle Beach High School, Carolina Forest High School, and Conway High School.

2025 Summer Camp Format

 

Offense-Defense will operate the 2025 Camp season in the following camp format which is a significant change from prior years.  We have redesigned our format to meet the changing needs of athletes transitioning through the many levels of a football program, and the changing football environment as a whole.

The camps offered in 2025 will be a 1-day Showcase Camp, a 1-day Flag Training Camp, and a 4-day Fundamental Development Camp.

Showcase Camp

The Showcase Camp is designed for athletes aiming to obtain exposure and acquire all the accolades and name recognition that their play warrants. Exposure is our goal, but exposure is the last trait on a long list of traits that will lead an athlete to success. We work on getting you there, noting the fact that “exposure” at the wrong time could be a disaster if you’re NOT READY to be exposed. In addition to gaining exposure, athletes will be provided life skills that are required of every participant at the next level. The recruiting process is extremely important!!! Don’t leave success in the hands of someone else or to an app that promises the world! It’s a personal process that takes a lot of time, dedication and research to succeed and Offense-Defense will be right there with you every step of the way.  There are numerous awards available to athletes attending this camp that assure an awareness of both college coaches and media personnel alike.

This camp will run for one day with two showcase sessions. 

Sample Agenda:

Day 1

  • 7:00am – 7:45am = Registration (Camper Check-In)
  • 7:45am – 8:00am = Introductions & Welcome Address
  • 8:00am – 11:00am = Session 1
  • 12:30pm – 3:30pm = Session 2

Fundamental Development Camp

This camp runs for 4 days (Sunday – Wednesday) with up to eleven training sessions based on individual camp-desired attendance selection, focusing on full contact skills with advance development directed toward individual improvements.

  • Designed to assist in the development of players at every skill level from youth to high school through dynamic drills focused on fundamental advancements.
  • Offering technical instructions with hands-on coaching & live game play with written evals.
  • Full-Contact – Compliant in areas where Full Contact or Pads are NOT Allowed!!!
  • Providing the answer to the Age Old Question: “Can You Play???”
  • The second O-D National Ranking of the year will be published in August following the Development Camp – “Pre-Season”

  • 8:00am – 8:45am = Registration (Camper Check-In)
  • 8:45am – 9:00am = Introductions & Welcome Address
  • 9:00am – 11:00am = Session 1
  • 12:30pm – 3:30pm = Session 2
  • 5:00pm – 7:00pm = Session 3 (Overnight & Extended Day Campers Only)

Day 2

  • 9:00am – 11:00am = Session 4
  • 12:30pm – 3:30pm = Session 5
  • 5:00pm – 7:00pm = Session 6 (Overnight & Extended Day Campers Only)

Day 3

  • 9:00am – 11:00am = Session 7
  • 12:30pm – 3:30pm = Session 8
  • 5:00pm – 7:00pm = Session 9 (Overnight & Extended Day Campers Only)

Day 4

  • 9:00am – 11:30am = Session 10
  • 1:00pm – 4:00pm = Session 11
  • End of Camp Closeout with Award Recognitions

 

Flag Training Camp

Athletes will take part in a series of drills for both an offensive and defensive position. They will spend the initial part of the camp day learning and working on fundamental skills associated with the game of flag football in a non-contact environment, learning receiving, passing, defending and route running.

Scrimmage games will be setup for play during conclusion of camp to reinforce the skills learned. Flag football is a great way to introduce young athletes to football learning the rules, how to play as a team, and to just see if there’s any interest or the level of talent to continue in the sport.

Flag Training Participant will be instructed on the following:

Throwing

  • Right technique avoiding bad habits to become fluid and technically accurate
  • Good grip, positioning of hands
  • Shoulder position with motion and release.
  • Different targeting technique practice on routes for timely delivery
  • For quarterbacks, they will practice clean snap with the center and the transition to throw

Route Running

  • Learning the passing tree
  • Attacking the defender with short routes verses long routes (Advantage of both)
  • Finding a rhythm in passing as a team

Flag Pulling

  • Defensively, one of the most important things you must be able to do is to pull a flag
  • Training with one hand
  • Learning to grab the flag standing still and in motion at different angles
  • Clean grab verses holding onto another part of of a players uniform, you will be penalized

Catching

  • Every player should know how to catch a football
  • Technique to properly catch the football and secure it for advancement
  • Fumble and fumble recovery

Defense

  • Will learn defensive maneuver, strategies and coverage
  • How to play both man-to-man and zone defense

This camp runs for 1 day with two training sessions focusing on basic skills directed toward individual development through the game of flag football.
