Participation agreement, release and medical authorization

Football is a contact sport

Football and football training involve physical contact, running, tackling, blocking and heat. They carry a risk of injury, including sprains, broken bones, concussion and, rarely, serious or permanent injury. O-D coaches teach and supervise with safety first, but no one can remove every risk.

You confirm your athlete is physically able to take part, and that you will tell O-D in writing before the event about any medical condition, allergy, medication or injury our staff should know about.

Release

To the fullest extent the law of your state allows, you release Offense-Defense, its owners, staff, coaches, volunteers, host schools and venues from claims for injury or loss arising from your athlete's ordinary participation, except where caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Medical authorization

If your athlete is injured or becomes ill and we cannot reach you, you authorize O-D staff to obtain first aid and emergency medical treatment for your athlete, including transport to a hospital. We will always try to reach you and your emergency contact first. You are responsible for the cost of any treatment.

Conduct

Athletes must follow the instructions of O-D coaches and staff. O-D may remove an athlete whose behaviour puts themselves or others at risk, without a refund.

Concussion

Any athlete showing signs of a concussion is removed from activity and is not allowed to return that day. We will contact you straight away.
